Faith Kiema

NEC Hub Budget Facilitator from Kitui County, the founder and director of Kitui Women in Development (KWID), a women’s rights organization based in Kitui County, Kenya, working on issues of gender equality and social inclusion.

She is a gender expert specialized in initiatives that promote inclusivity and address gender disparities such as gender analysis, strategy and policy development capacity building, project integration, research and advocacy. Ms. Faith Kiema was commissioned as a mentor by Patron Prof PLO Lumumba under HESHIMIKA Excellency mentorship and life skills program. She is certified to navigate public budgets for the betterment of herself, the community and country at large by the Bajeti Hub and certified women in leadership in peace and security, Human rights, peace building, SGBV & International peace and security practitioner from the International peace support training Centre Kenya. Her work aligns with broader efforts in Kenya to address social inequalities and champion the rights of marginalized populations which deliberately extends to budget advocacy for meaningful impact and sustainability because she says “budgets must serve their intended purpose”. Among other Current positions she holds are Chairperson Kitui County technical working group on women socio-economic empowerment, Kitui county coordinator National Women Steering Committee (NWSC), Kenya Devolution Civil Society Organizations Working Group (KDCWG) Steering committee member representing south eastern economic block (SEKEB).Ms. Faith holds the peace Award 2023 under category of community Empowerment by the international college of peace studies, recognized for various efforts including  contribution to building the social economy of Kenya by the embassy of France through Social Enterprise Society Of Kenya (SESOK) and E4 Impact Accelerator.8th March 2024 By the county commissioner Kitui and county ministry of gender at the commemoration of international women’s day for exemplary work in women’s socio economic empowerment championing initiatives that uplift and support women fostering gender equality and sustainable development.8th March 2025 – outstanding contribution and commitment to the planning and successful completion of IWD 2025 held in Kitui county. What makes her heart sing and celebrate is the harmonious alignment of financial resources with equitable outcomes ensuring that every shilling spent advances fairness and social justice.
